Watch a ballad on celluloid
In collaboration with Alliance Française de Bombay, What About Art presents The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye. Genesis P-Orridge has been one of the most innovative and influential figures in music and fine arts for the last 30 years. Defying artistic boundaries, Genesis has redefined his art as a challenge to the limits of biology. In 2000, Genesis began a series of sex reassignment surgeries in order to more closely resemble his love, Lady Jaye. It was the ultimate act of devotion, and Genesis's most risky, ambitious, and subversive performance to date: he became a she in a triumphant act of artistic self-expression. This is a love story, and a portrait of two lives that illustrate the transformative powers of both love and art.

Snap judgement
A quick verdict on the buzz

Poignant picture
Before December 8, head to Project 88 in Colaba to view Munem Wasif's debut solo exhibition in India. 'Jomin o Joban - a tale of the land' has photographic prints, a series of cyanotype prints, and a video. The exhibition is a compelling narrative of contemporary Bangladesh's personal relationships with land, right from the border territory between Bangladesh and India, to the replacement of rice cultivation by jute.

Not-so-fab prices
We visited Fabindia's just-launched FabCafé, located off Kemps Corner, this week. It is spacious and tastefully done up with floral illustrations on the walls, and rich wooden flooring. It's perfect for Instagrammers, what with natural light pouring in from its huge windows. The prices, however, are steep. The oat idli with tomato naryal chutney and sambhar will cost you R290. We suggest you visit only if you have the moolah to spare.

A boring prince
WE think Netflix is taking a break this Christmas season. How else can you explain the lacklustre Netflix Original, A Christmas Prince? It tells the story of journalist Amber, who is sent to follow the alleged womanizer Prince Richard, who could or could not take over the throne of some unknown kingdom. They fall in love, and there is a misunderstanding. Also, neither of the leads got our hearts racing. What a snooze fest. Watch it only if you need to be distracted from messaging an ex. Or else ditch!
