Entrepreneurs are going all out to provide fresh, delicious, homemade meals to pets. After all, why should humans have all the fun?
Waggilicious meals
The best food for your canine or feline companion is one that meets its nutritional needs. Every animal, however, may not have the same wants, which is why pet entrepreneurs are going the extra mile to offer customised meals to match customer requirements. Their recipes, made with human-grade ingredients, are healthy, nutritious and wholesome, and we think your furry babies will love them. Here’s our best round-up.

Waggilicious Treats and Meals
Waggilicious Treats and Meals, founded by Preeti Chauhan, is a pet meal brand based in Goregaon. “The idea came about because of my pet Bella, who was a fussy eater and at around that time was detected with a congenital cyst which made her sick every few days. So while I made fancy meals for her, I started to share them with other pet parents,” says Chauhan. The purpose of the venture is to provide wholesome, nutritious and species-appropriate gourmet meals for fussy eaters. “I often get calls from distressed pet parents who would ask me to send one of my curated meals either because their pet has been on a hunger strike or was not eating because of an illness.” Apart from gourmet meals, they also provide regular meals in chicken and buff varieties. You’ll also find options such as chicken wraps, chicken patties with fries, and a wholesome steamed chicken breast with seasonal veggies.

The PetChef
The PetChef, by entrepreneur Nayan Shah, provides fresh, healthy, nutritious meals for dogs and cats in a monthly subscription format. The meals are customised to suit a pet’s needs and are delivered directly to the customer’s doorstep. Meal portions are sized for single meals and can be stored in the freezer. All the pet parent needs to do is thaw and serve. You can opt for the Chicken Chow Meal (Rs 5,999.00/month for 12 months) that combines chicken, veggies and brown rice. This meal, he says, helps keep the gut healthy and bones strong, and is appropriate for regular or overweight dogs. Mutton Nom Nom (Rs 7,499.00/month for 12 months), on the other hand, consists of mutton, eggs, veggies and rice, and helps sustain energy for a long period of time and is suitable for young or extremely active dogs. For vegeterian dogs, the Paneer Pop offers a meal made up of dairy-based protein along with the goodness of rice and veggies. This meal is a balanced source of protein, carbs, and other essential nutrients that is right for an active dog. There are other options like bone broth and fish fillet too.
