In 2020, Surbhi Dhoot, who has always played around with rhymes, found her calling when she met a typewriter busker. Who&rsquo;s that? It&rsquo;s an age-old European trade for poets. They sit at town squares and fire out a couplet for those who want to gift a poem to their friends and lovers. &ldquo;Soon, I began busking with my typewriter at cafes, and at events such as [IIT-Bombay&rsquo;s annual festival] Mood Indigo, for those who wanted to say something to their loved ones, but couldn&rsquo;t find the right words,&rdquo; says Dhoot. She has since written almost 300 poems via busking and Instagram orders, which also include affirmations and other words of encouragement as part of a small gift box.
