Bengal Club’s Durgoutsav at Shivaji Park, Dadar is one of the oldest pandals in the city. Apart from their prasad (bhog), they have several stalls serving authentic Bengali snacks like machher chaap, mangsher jhol, mughlai porotha, payesh, rajbhog, cham cham, dimer chaap, Bengali style egg rolls, and more. The menu is different every day. Prabhadevi resident Shamita Roy says, “The Shivaji Park Durga pujo has been my go-to place during Navratri every year. The huge number of food stalls and the shopping area of the pandal have been a stand out every time.”

Lokhandwala resident Mansi Pandey says, “I go to this Durga pujo pandal with my family every year, and I always end up having a wholesome experience. Home away from home

The Ramakrishna Mission Durga Pujo at Khar feels like home for those from Kolkata living in the city. Former Seven Bungalows resident Sohini Das says, “From the dhakis playing their percussion to the idol, the crowd of revellers in new ‘pujo dresses’ to the four-day food stalls selling everything from kosha mangsho-luchi to chicken roll or biriyani —in my mind it’s my own little Calcutta coming alive in Bombay. It helps take away the homesickness.”
