<p>Like every year, all the iconic monuments of the city will be illuminated in the colours of the flag for Republic Day. Drive past the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mantralaya and Bombay Stock Exchange building to catch the lights.</p>
<h2>7.30 - 8.30 AM<br />Tank up on a jalebi-fafda breakfast</h2>

<p>A Republic Day celebration is incomplete without the traditional Gujarati snack combo jalebi and fafda. If you just nodded your head as you read this, do head to Pancharatna. <h2>5 PM &ndash; 7 PM<br />Walk through urban Mumbai</h2>
<p>From mills to malls, Parel&rsquo;s landscape has been through a major overhaul over the last decade. Omkar Salunke, an assistant professor of History at Kirti College, will take you through that transformation with his walk Exploring Urbanisation&mdash;the Jane Jacobs Parel.
