The release of Prince of Persia has ushered in another excellent year for gaming, with some other notable releases scheduled for this year
Skull and Bones
Skull and Bones
Ubisoft has been working on this epic pirate game for a long time with numerous delays. We can only hope it is all it can be when it releases in February. This open world or rather open seas game has you build your pirate empire based on infamy, ships, and swashbuckling adventure. You don’t even have to do it alone. You can form alliances with your friends and ruthlessly take down rivals out to steal your loot and mar your reputation.

Homeworld 3
Homeworld will again grace our screens after over 20 years since the last game was released. The game is a hardcore tactical strategy game with epic space battles and massive armadas of spaceships. Like its predecessors, it looks beautiful, and we hope to play equally well. The focus is on building the perfect fleet. The game is scheduled for a March release.
Black Myth: Wukong
Chinese developers Game Science will be releasing their much-teased game Black Myth: Wukong this year. I got to play a demo of this game at Gamescom last year and it was a spectacular visual treat. The game is based on a 16th-century book called Journey to the West, which has been the base for several movies, animations, and games. The game is planned for an August release.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
The makers of Batman: Arkham has made a new game based on the Suicide Squad set to be released in February. Like the Batman games, this will be a third-person action shooter where one can control the villains in Amanda Waller’s task force, called the Suicide Squad. The mission is to kill the Justice League. Every squad member can go wild in their gameplay. With Rocksteady Studios at the helm, hopes are high.
Alone in the Dark
The 1992 classic Alone in the Dark is also getting a remake or, rather, a reimagining. The game will blend cosmic and psychological horror, detective fiction, and Southern Gothic elements. The game has roped in actors David Harbour and Jodie Comer for the lead roles. This time , the game will focus less on combat and more on the story, exploration, puzzle-solving, and overall atmosphere. It should be interesting to see Alone in the Dark in this new avatar.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
Microsoft Flight Simulator will be getting a new version as well this year. Along with the lovely realistic simulation of almost every aircraft imaginable, you will be getting machine learning enhancements, realistic weather conditions, and a crazy level of accuracy.
Rise of Ronin
Rise of Ronin will take you to 19th-century Japan and will be a combat-focused open-world action RPG. The game takes place after Western ships descend on the shores of Japan, and the country is in turmoil. You play a ronin, which is a samurai without a master, and you can choose what you want to do in the game. The combat will be suitable for both beginners and experienced players, with players able to select their own level of difficulty.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
The Like a Dragon franchise is taking its kooky but fun Japanese game on a little vacation to Hawaii. This means more interesting stories to explore, some fun arcade games, and over-the-top action that made this franchise famous. You get a choice of two Yakuza protagonists Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu, which looks like an interesting story. The game launched a few days back.
Contra: Operation Galuga
Contra is getting a bit of a revival with this new game, and it seems to have all the elements you need for a great arcade title. It will feature new enemies, some new play mechanics, and up to four players for even more on-screen chaos. As usual, while it does have a story, the story ultimately won’t matter. This game is all about nostalgia and run-and-gun action. Going by the trailer and a couple of gameplay videos this thing will definitely deliver. Unfortunately, though it is announced for this year, the release date has not been set yet.
