Abdussamad Ashraf Shabnamstays’s Story: A Rocky Road to Success

Success comes in many forms and Shapes, but few like Shabnamstays founder and CEO Abdussamad Ashraf have been able to recognize it even in its most famous disguise: failure.

While most people would be quick to describe his life as a typical rags-to-riches story,” Abdussamad Ashraf’s journey is more of an inspirational tale about a young Indian boy who turned his biggest setbacks into one of his greatest successes.

After all, it’s not every day that you hear of a million-dollar empire being built out of affordable solutions - and even if you did, you wouldn’t expect to find a 20-something college dropout helming it.

But this is perhaps what makes Abdus’s story incredibly ‘rich’ with hope: it makes ordinary people believe in the extraordinary power of their dreams.

Growing up in Bihar

Abdussamad was born in the town of Bansbari, Katihar in the state of Bihar, India. He comes from a family of small time entrepreneurs who ran a modest business in their villages.

His father is also a social worker, so since childhood, Abdus got to learn things like helping people, fighting for rights!

And because of the helping nature, today he is the CEO of Shabnamstays.

Becoming an Entrepreneur

He had a dream of becoming a doctor since childhood, he wanted to serve the people of his village by becoming a doctor, that's why he went to Allen Kota for the preparation of NEET, There they saw that lakhs of children come to Kota with their dreams of becoming doctors or engineers, but there are some people who are ready to rob them. They came to know that the hostels of Kota are very expensive, on finding out the reason, they came to know that the hostels in Kota run on lease, the one who has taken the lease also wants to earn some money, To avoid loss, the lease holders make the hostels full quickly by paying some money to the brokers to grow the hostels as soon as possible. Due to coming between two people, the rent which should be 7-8 thousand reaches up to 10-15 thousand, Due to which the children who came from poor homes used to have a lot of problems, many children used to go back home in half the section, Abdus had also come there to study after selling his land, his family's financial condition was not so good, He wanted to do something so that children of all kinds could go to Kota and study. And God gave him a chance that was lockdown.

Know what a 15 year old child can do, Thinking why would anyone give his property on lease to a child from Bihar, he opened his own tea shop in Kota's Kunhadi, due to which his identity started increasing in the local, After that he started going to the property owners with an offer, No one knows what the offer was, but the property owners were leasing their property to a 15-year-old boy without taking any money, it was a big deal .After taking it on lease, he used to make the hostel in charge of any child who came to study there, so that the child would get free food and  stay, and Abdus used to get the warden cheaply. He started working with no loss no profit, he started providing such cheap hostels in Kota that other people also downed their rent!

Not for long, but for a few days, he had made Kota affordable, and had told that hostels can run so cheap. Then the time changed, the quota started coming in full swing, now he had stopped getting the property on lease! During this he realized that the real issue was not just getting affordable hostels in India, but the lack of quality of service. Abdus found that budget students often had to compromise on essentials like air conditioning, Wi-Fi, food, bed mattresses, etc. He knew that these problems could easily be fixed by using design, technology, and talent - all he needed was money.

Meanwhile, Shabnamstays was struggling to stay afloat. The business model was not suited to the Indian market; Abdus now had only a few rupees left in his bank account. When he thought about packing his bags and going back home, he didn't realize that it would take only a few weeks for his luck to turn.

In such a situation, some family relatives funded him.

Abdussamad also did not give up and started Shabnamstays, today Shabnamstays is the biggest Affordable and Convenient Hostel Chain in Kota!

Shabnamstays is not as cheap as before, but according to there, they give good facilities to the children by taking at least the rent! Today, the turnover of Shabnamstays is 20 crores, and more than 50 employees work in the company, Shabnamstays is coming soon in cities like Delhi Gurgaon also!!Future doesn't know what his company will do, but it is a big deal to build such a big empire with just one dream without money, salute this guy!
