Only Stress-Free Parenting Can Raise Happy Kids

Parenting is a huge responsibility and a major challenge in dealing with the kids of this generation. The duties of the parents are much more than it is expected. Only buying expensive clothes, paying for good education, etc. is not sufficient for raising a happy kid. Real parents help their kids in dealing with their personality defects and teach good qualities that help them in creating a happy life for themselves.

In parenting, only stress-free parents can educate their children on how to create a happy life for themselves, and for that healthy communication should be there between both of them. It is the responsibility of the parents to create a comfortable environment for their kids so that they do not hesitate before sharing anything with them. But if the parents will always be in stress, children will never feel like discussing anything with them.

What are the Reasons for Stress in Parents?

Among various reasons few of them are:

-        Communication gap with the children.

-        Keep blaming children for any mistake and not accepting their mistakes in front of anyone.

-        Comparison with other children.

-        Not explaining anything properly and then blaming for wrong compilation.

-        Forcing kids to meet their expectations.

Steps to Raise Joyful Kids

  1. In research, it is established that a kid shares a special bond with the mother and a depressed mother can never raise a happy and successful child. Stressful parents cause behavioral changes in the kids and for that, genes can’t be blamed. To avoid this, the parents must spend their time with family and friends along with the kids who love to laugh and make others happy. Laughter is the best therapy that can help anyone to release their stress. It is contagious so, if you hear the laughter, you will feel happier inside, and hence, will help lighten your mood.
  2. Be positive in your approach. Avoid blaming kids for every problem. Stop using the sentences like “you are good for nothing”, “you know nothing”, etc. In every situation, always listen to their perspective as well before coming to any conclusion. The communication should ensure the kids that parents are listening to understand them and not blaming them.
  3. The communication between the parent and child should be very clear. Everything must be explained properly to them deep down to their level. This develops the sense in the children that just like their parents, they should listen to and respect them. If the parents prefer ego over their child’s development, they cannot raise a happy kid that respects others.
  4. Do not compare your child with other child’s achievements. Every kid is special in his/her way and higher expectations lead to depression in the child. Set them free in choosing their interest and support them in what they love to do the most. Fewer expectations minimize stress and result in a happy childhood.
  5. Last but not least, take out time for the children from your busy schedule and communicate with them. Children face many issues in their daily routine and if they are not guided properly at right time, it may mislead them into choosing the wrong direction.
