World Dignity Forum (WDF), the conscious underpinning of the World Economic Forum, is the pivotal gathering of ‘resolutionaries’ (solutionaries coming from resolve) from the world over to address the Planet’s most critical and pressing issues, impacting life, with the core being ‘dignifylife’.
The recent meeting of the World Dignity Forum Resolutionaries, during the Leadership Conclave held at Shri Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli near Bangalore, by Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence, the WDF announced the launch of the #Dignifylife campaign.
Talking about the World Dignity Forum and the Dignifylife campaign, Mynoo Maryel, the Co-Founder of POEM Foundation and an acclaimed author of BE BOOK, said, "Presently, most of the world’s activities are organized around maximizing economic value. We are witnessing the limitations of such extractive business models on environmental degradation, rampant inequality, and a lack of corporate and political accountability. However, the regenerative, ethical business anchored on DIGNITY can be a powerful change agent.”
“With collaboration, cooperation and co-creation, World Dignity Forum is to serve as a socially, environmentally, and spiritually focused, conscious alternative to the damaging effects of the exclusive focus on economics, as the only viable solution.” further added Mynoo Maryel.
Elaborating on the #dignifylife campaign, Mynoo said, “It is to bring on board the voices from across all segments on how #dignifylife is a calling for today's time! There will be Talk Series as well as WDF Conclaves across a couple of countries in the coming 24 to 36 months. We intend to keep issuing updates here onwards.”
The need for an inclusive, activated civil society to step up as a partner and force for the common good and for the very essence of survival of the planet led to the co-creation of World Dignity Forum in 2019 with its first meeting in February 2019 in Los Angeles, convening some of the most effective ‘resolutionaries’ from the world over to inspire and advance the ‘inclusive’ and ‘dignity’ mindset; sharing their solutions and patronage, anchored within the framework of ‘dignity’ - to address pressing issues and existential threats in business-economics, environment, health and relationships.
“You are born with Choice, and You are Born with Dignity. Dignity is all about honouring our own worthiness and from that space honouring it in others and in the planet, says Mynoo Maryel, a visionary and thought leader…a spiritual confidante and a lifestyle and business mentor and coach!
Dignity is never lost; it is only when we ignore it in ourselves over a sustained period that what it does is it gives the permission to dishonour the worthiness of others and other living things and the planet itself. As a result, what happens is we start destroying the worthiness of our environment. A case in point is the tree. We find that a tree has value once it is chopped and it is on the balance sheet, but in the forest, it is not deemed to be valuable. As a result, forests have got chopped, and we are all dealing with the environmental dilemma that it has generated. In continuation to this is the climate change issue, that affects everyone and everything.
There are numerous such examples as reference, but the most important to understand is that it all stems from each individual ignoring their own worthiness, and it then cascades to ignoring it in others and the planet too!
It is time that we recognize that dignity is a thread that connects every little aspect of that which comes together to make this planet a planet and that delivers to everyone, and it is this set of dignity that has become weakened, and it is broken. It is time to resurrect that, rejuvenate that and restore that, and we do this through human beings. It could be done one at a time, and it could be done en masse.
We are hearing mental illness issues, we are hearing stress issues, we are hearing anxiety issues, we are hearing about suicides in young adults, and depression is on the rise, we are wirneesing climate havoc. A whole variety of things. All of these have got dignity as the missing and essential piece. Dignity is an issue that has a direct impact on business as much as it has a direct impact on each of the individuals and the planet and the level of joy and happiness in society. It all stems from each individual and how they relate to people within their own family or in their workplace, and it multiplies and amplifies, and that is where the World Dignity Forum movement becomes the calling for the WDF solutionaries –resolutionaries, to take forward the vision and mission of ‘dignifylife’, a POEM Foundation initiative.
