Salman Khan already has two successful movie franchises under his belt - the Dabangg series and the Tiger series. If all goes well, the superstar may just add another franchise to his kitty.

Three years after Kick set the box office on fire, Sajid Nadiadwala, who made his directorial debut with it, is planning a sequel. While there has been speculation around the sequel for some time now, it reached a new high when Khan met the filmmaker at his office last week. What makes it all the more interesting is the new addition to the cast — Varun Dhawan.

Dhawan is often viewed as a potential successor to the superstar considering the former, much like Khan, has a proclivity to masala entertainers. On several occasions, the youngster has admitted to being inspired by Khan. Nadiadwala, who recently collaborated with him on Judwaa 2, felt Dhawan would be a perfect fit for Kick 2 given his easy equation with Khan. Says a source, "The most popular scene in Judwaa 2 was that of Salman and Varun together. Seeing their effortless chemistry, Sajid has been toying with the idea of casting them together."

Nadiadwala has apparently spoken to both actors who have shown interest to be part of the project. "Sajid's team is working on the script. As soon as it's complete, both of them will be given a narration." While Kick was an official remake of the Telugu flick by the same name, it is not certain whether Nadiadwala's film will be original or devised on the lines of the Telugu action-comedy's sequel, Kick 2 (2015). If all goes well, the film will go on floors by late 2018 given the stars' chock-a-block diaries. Nadiadwala remained unavailable for comment.
