Akshay Kumar has cancelled the trial show for his film Chandni Chowk 2 China to be held tonight. The actor had booked PVR Juhu for a screening of the movie so his friends and family could watch it. Akshay has a tradition of holding movie trials of his releases for close friends. However, this time he decided to cancel the movie trial.
One of the major reasons for this development is that Akshay has agreed to perform at the Screen Awards to be held on the MMRDA grounds tonight. A source reveals, "This is a last-minute addition to the show. Akshay was not supposed to perform before, but he agreed to do an act after the organisers approached him. The show was primarily supposed to revolve around the actresses. Akshay is the only big actor who will be part of the show."
A source close to the actor adds, "After the premieres in Los Angeles, New York, London and Toronto, Akshay felt that the film would be fully enjoyed only with a theatre audience. He wanted his friends and family to watch the film with the public rather than have a private trial. He's thrilled with the response he's received for his role."
