Amrita Arora Ladhak, who is currently in her eighth month of pregnancy, was recently admitted to a hospital in Dubai with a severe case of food poisoning.

Says a source close to Amrita, "Amrita and Shakeel had gone to Dubai last week for a shopping holiday. This was her last trip before the baby arrives as she is in her third trimester and has been advised not to travel after December 5. While there, she she started feeling nauseous and began throwing up.

Just in time

Since she is due next month, Shakeel was extremely worried when her condition showed no signs of improvement. When she fainted, he panicked and took her to Well Care Hospital where she was diagnosed with severe food poisoning and dehydration." Fortunately, Shakeel took Amu to the hospital in time or even the baby's health might have been affected. She was admitted for a day. She was discharged yesterday in the afternoon.

The source says, "Amu also has family from her mom's side and friends based in Dubai who arranged everything for her and she was well taken care of. She had to be put on intravenous fluids. They couldn't give her strong medication as she's expecting. She is now resting. Amu and Shakeel will return to Mumbai tomorrow."
