What do Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt have in common? Their recent 'political turn'. While Sanju is making the necessary changes to fit into the new neta image, Arjun has chopped off his long locks for Prakash Jha's Rajniti (politics).

Adhuna (Farhan) Akhtar is responsible for this new look. Arjun says, "I feel lighter now. It's amazing how different a haircut can make you feel. Adhuna cut my hair in 30 minutes flat. We have reduced the length but have not gone drastically short."

Character demands

Since he plays a politician, his character needed shorter hair, but Arjun is not mourning the loss, "My hair grows back very fast. In fact, even when the length of my hair was long I had to keep going for interim cuts to maintain the look. Now that I have cut it short, I will need to cut my hair more often."

Daughters unhappy

Even though he's pleased with the new look, his daughters Mahikaa and Myra are unhappy with papa's missing curls, "They say I shouldn't have cut it. I'd prepared them and said I was getting a crew cut done, but it isn't that drastic."

Arjun won't have any continuity problems with other films. He explains, "I have wrapped up my other films, except for Deepak Tijori's Fox, where I will be using hair extensions."

Arjun leaves for Bhopal for the first schedule of Rajniti on February 6.
