Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and superstar Rajinikanth among other stalwarts of Indian cinema would be invited to attend the unveiling ceremony of matinee idol Dr Rajkumar's memorial here on November 29.

Kollywood superstar Kamal Haasan, Tollywood superstar Chiranjeevi, Mollywood stars Mamooty and Mohanlal and actress B Sarojaa Devi would also be invited, Information Minister Roshan Baig told repoters here.


"The memorial, which is set up on the premises of Kanteerava Studio, has been developed at a cost of Rs seven crore so far," Dr Rajkumar Pratisthana Member-Secretary Ravi Kumar told PTI.

He said work on a 800-seater open-air auditorium, mini water body, landscaping, installation of a three-ft long bronze bust statue of Rajkumar, and an exhibition 40
photographs of select movies of the thespian, had been completed.

Dr Rajkumar Pratisthana, comprising writers, bureaucrats, and members from the actor's family were supervising the progress of the work.

The place is now being called 'Rajkumar Punyabhoomi' and has become a tourist destination.
