Producer Boney Kapoor is known for his keen eye in picking out winners from theu00a0 South industry to remake in the Hindi film.

Boney, soon to release film Wanted, with Salman Khan in the lead s also said to be remake of Tamil film Pokhri. His last hit No Entry was also a remake of a Tamil film Charlie Chaplin. Now Kapoor has now bought the rights of Kannada blockbuster Mungaru Malle.

Depends on dates

Mungaru Malle was made on a shoe-string budget of less than a crore and did a roaring business of 50 crores. The remake is going to be directed by cameraman Santosh Sivan and is set to mount the sets later in the year.

Industry buzz around the project is that Boney is trying his level best to get romantic hero Imran Khan to play the lead part. Dialogue between the actor and the producer is on. Apparently, Khan likes the original film but it all depends on the dates.u00a0

In the original movie, a new actor and a actress had made their debuts.
