Sonam Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer fares poor while Kangna Ranuat-starrer 'Queen' continues its impressive run at the box office
'Bewakoofiyaan'
Last Friday’s release, 'Bewakoofiyaan', has turned to be a damp squib at the box office as it has only collected around Rs 7 crore in its opening weekend. The week seems to belong to 'Queen', which has benefited from positive word-of-mouth. The Kangna Ranaut starrer has collected around Rs 24 crore in 10 days.

Exhibitor Rajesh Thadani says, “'Bewakoofiyaan' has not fared well at the box office as it has only earned Rs 7 crore in its first weekend. 'Queen', on the other hand, continued to draw audiences into the cinema halls. 'Gulaab Gang' had a good start at the box office but it has only earned Rs 14 crore in 10 days.”
Trade pundits add that the exam season has adversely affected box-office collections. Trade analyst Amod Mehra says, “Aside from the exam season, 'Bewakoofiyaan' promos seem to have put off cinema-goers. 'Queen' has maintained its top position at the box office.”
Exhibitors point out that Holi celebrations have also eaten into ticket sales. On Monday, theatres across North India opened only after 3 pm, which is said to have affected films’ collections. Vishal Anand of Fun Cinema says, “Box-office collections in the Hindi belt suffered on account of Holi. So far, 'Queen' has been leading the way; 'Bewakoofiyaan' is yet to gain momentum.”
