Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone claim to be good friends, but they refused to pose together for the cover of the Indian edition of Vogue.

When approached, both actresses Sonam politely declined the offer and made it clear that they'd be available if it was for a solo cover shoot.

A source tells all, "Deepika and Sonam haven't been shot together, and the magazine thinktank thought it's be a great idea to get the Saawariya and the Om Shanti Om girls in the same frame.

Not just because they made their debuts at the same time, but also because they were of the same age, and are friends, as well as rivals.

The idea was to get the girls into a mock cat fight. They were asked to wear a shirt, denims and jacket and get into a fight over a boy's t-shirts.

The visuals had to show them as two tom boyish girls fighting over a boy's clothes."

However, both of them declined the offer since they didn't like the theme. "They didn't want to be shown as two girls fighting over a boy.

The obvious understanding would have been that they are fighting over Ranbir." Especially because Deepika is his girlfriend and Sonam was linked to him at the time they were shooting for Bhansali's film.u00a0

This isn't the first time Sonam and Deepika have had problems working together. In the past Sonam was offered a chance to host a segment at the recently held Filmfare Awards which she declined.

The source adds, "Sonam and Deepika were to do a segment for the awards. However, since Sonam declined last minute they roped in Konkona.

Even though the two are cordial with each other in public, in private they don't quite like to be associated with each other."

When contacted Sonam denied the incident and said, "It's not true."
