The bob grows out well too, like we saw on actress Anushka Sharma. "For Those who have wanted to go short but have been scared, the long bob is the perfect cut to opt for. You can go straight for a sleek morning elegant look, straighten the centre and sides for a little messy look and go with or without bangs," says hairstylist Avani Yashwin. Pics/AFP & Nimesh Dave
For straighter hair, like on model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, one can either go for a simple blow-dry or iron tong the hair for a wind-blown yet sleek look.
For beach-chic hair like reality show queen Kim Kardashian West, use a little sea salt spray and scrunch your hair or spray some hair mist to increase the volume. "For the upcoming monsoon months when the humidity in Mumbai makes our head go crazy, the controlled beach look is perfect," says Avani.
For a tousled messy bob like Priyanka Chopra, towel-dry your hair and blow-dry it after using a heat protector. "For someone who already has a wavy hair texture, it’s good to diffuse dry the hair and use a beachy wave spray for volume. Those with curly hair can also diffuse dry their hair after using product to define the curls," says Akshata Honawar, hairstylist.
Sonakshi Sinha did a style turnaround by chopping her hair. Sinha has experimented with both poker-straight and wavy options. "Always keep your normal hair texture in mind while deciding the length of your bob. If you don’t want to treat your hair through straightening, the volume of the waves of your hair and curls have to be lessened," says Avani.
If you have a round or heart-shaped face like Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, don’t be scared to go short. "The bob suits people of all ages and most women I have seen who have the guts to go short, will pull off the look no matter what the face shape. Layering is the key," says Avani.
If you are going for a blunt long bob, like actress Nargis Fakhri, keep a few things in mind to not end up looking like a puffy helmet head, "Keep the length in the front more than the length at the back if you want to go chin length. We need to keep in mind that most Indians have denser hair so some amount of layering has to be done to not look chunky," says Avani.
