Buzz is that the part owner DJ Aqeel is annoyed by the various diktats for the club
Those who love to disco, will have one less place to shake their legs. It comes as a surprise that DJ Aqeel has decided to fold his business and shut his fairly popular club, Hype. The club was opened in 2009. Several Bollywood films have been shot in the club.

A song of the upcoming film Aurangzeb has been shot there. The launch event of Ameesha Patel’s film was also held there recently as DJ Aqeel is the music composer for the film.
According to a source, “Aqeel has sold the club to someone and it is shutting down now. More than 90 per cent of the staff has been asked to leave.”
The club manager Neil confirms, “Yes, the club is shutting down, and beyond this I can’t share any news as of now.”
DJ Aqeel remained unavailable for comment. His wife Farah Khan Ali says, “Yes, it has been sold but will have to ask Aqeel for the details.”
The club boasts of one of the biggest dance floors in the city.u00a0
