Despite personal problems, Deepak Tijori managed to complete his long-in-the-making project, Fox, last Friday.
Determined shooter
Just on the eve of the final shoot schedule, Tijori's daughter Samara's kidnap drama unfolded. The harrowed father was under the media scanner and doing the rounds of the police station followed by the arrest of the alleged kidnapper, but he was determined that the shoot shouldn't suffer.
The psychological thriller stars Sunny Deol and Arjun Rampal along with Udita Goswami and Sagarika Ghatge. Its last schedule was pending since August 2008 due to production bottlenecks.
Says Tijori, "Fox was delayed for so long, I did not want it to push it back further. I had to force myself to get into the shooting frame of mind. On the home front, it was traumatic for my folks and me but I still managed to get going on the sets despite being emotionally drained."
He adds, "Now I can say that my 'magnum opus' is finally complete. As it was the final schedule, I was even more determined to complete it."
The film was shot largely at Madh Island apart from some indoor scenes on sets.
All sorted out
As soon as the shoot wrapped up, Tijori immediately immersed himself into post-production. "I hope to start dubbing in the next fortnight," he says.
About the hiccups the film faced, he says, "Everything is running smoothly now. There were certain elements that were thwarting the film's shoot. With the producers Zee now having a fresh team, things have been sorted out."
