Deepika Padukone has partnered with the government of her home state, Karnataka, to raise awareness and destigmatise depression. Through her foundation, Live Love Laugh, she wants to reassure distressed people that there’s help at hand.

The actress reportedly said at an event in Bengaluru, "Depression can strike anyone regardless of their age, background or economic status. Those who suffer from depression and other mental health issues face prejudice. Live Love Laugh is that common platform where everyone can get comprehensive knowledge, connect with professionals, and find comfort knowing that they are not alone."
