Deols turn to Munni for item

The success of the Dabangg song has spurred the Deols to include a track by Munni singer Mamta Sharma in their next, Yamla Paglaa Deewana

Look what the mega-hit Munni badnaam hui featuring Malaika Arora Khan in Dabangg, has started. The Deols --Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby -- have decided to perform a sizzling item song in their next, Yamla Pagla Deewana. Choreographed by Caesar (of Bosco-Caesar), the track features 'Munni' singer Mamta Sharma.

will be seen in an item number

Malaika says nope
Apparently, the Deols had requested Malaika's presence in Hum chor hain pukki zubaan ke. But now she isn't inclined to do any item song outside her home banner. So, the Deols have now brought in a string of item girls.

Director Samir Karnik said, "Mamta Sharma will do the female vocals for a series of item girls who come on screen to dance with the Deols. Dharamji, Sunny and Bobby will take turns singing in the voice of Saleem (who sang Ma da ladla in Dostana)."

Though Karnik didn't confirm any names, the item girls doing a Munni have been selected by Dharmendra.
Chuckles Karnik, "Oh, Dharamji is a rock star. Audiences will be surprised to see the item girls in the track. Even at his age, Dharamji out-danced his two sons in the item song. His movements are very 'UP Bhaiyya' type, which matched the tune."

Interestingly Hum chor hain pukki zubaan ke has a guest composer too, just like Lalit Pandit, who was brought in to do Munni in Dabangg. The guest composer for this one is Anu Malik. He had sent Satish Kaushik a legal notice when the latter got a guest composer to do a song in Teree Sang. Karnik defends the intervention with: "Kya karein? Karna padta hai."
