Now we hear that the National Award-winning actress apparently wanted to include a clause in her contract stating that she be allowed to sit through the film's editing. Says a source, "She wanted it in writing that she should have access to the film during the post-production stage. If she didn't like a particular scene, that would have to be snipped out."
Early last year, Kangana had taken off for a course in screenplay writing at the New York Film School. She had even penned some of the dialogues in her 2014 film Queen and had been credited for it as well. The actress was also keen on pursuing an editing course.
Adds the source, "Kangana has been hugely influenced by Aamir Khan who takes an active part at every stage of the filmmaking process. Like him, she shuns award functions and wants to play a greater role in her films than just be an actor."
While Kangana remained unavailable for comment, Sujoy denies the buzz. "I don't want to talk about the project as there have been enough speculations. I will make an announcement post monsoon," he says.
Saif Ali Khan has already been signed for the film to be made by Balaji, which acquired rights to the adaptation.
