Emma was cast as Hermione (in Harry Potter) at the age of nine. From the age of six, she wanted to become an actor, and for a number of years she trained at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts. 
Casting agents found Emma through her theatre teacher, and producers were impressed by her confidence.

After eight auditions, the producer told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected. Author JK Rowling supported Emma from her first screen test.
Emma's work on the Harry Potter series has earned her several awards and more than ufffd10 million.
She made her modelling debut for Burberry's Autumn/Winter campaign in 2009.
Emma got the nickname 'One Take Watson' because she could do any scene in just one take.
