How can they see with sequins in their eyes.

Give 'em the old razzle dazzle.

Give 'em a show that's so splendiferous, Row after row will crow vociferous," there's a bit of advise in there for
anyone who wants to put up a show.

And venerated members of the famous wives' club, jewellery designers all, who showcased collections at the ongoing India Couture Week 09, followed this plan to the T. Maheep Kapoor (actor Sanjay Kapoor's wife), Farah Ali Khan (DJ Aqueel's wife), Queenie Dhody (entrepreneur Raja Dhody's ex-wife) dazzled the audience more with celeb showstoppers and front row friends, than their jewelled creations.

They are not desperate housewives (From right) HDIL's Sunny Dewan, filmmaker Karan Johar (hidden), actors Sanjay Kapoor (wearing canary strap watch), Hrithik Roshan, actress Dia Mirza (in white), actor Zayed Khan's wife Malaika Khan and Zayed Khan (in orange tee).

That the shows allowed you to witness actor Zayed Khan make a dash to his seat; an art learnt from starring in one too many action flicks, and watch filmmaker Karan Johar leave his seat to crouch at his mother's feet while she cupped his face in her palms, with a "my baby's working so hard" smile on her face, was reason enough for the crowd to be there.

The only dampener roads jammed with Diwali shoppers, and a row of dry days thanks to assembly elections.

What's Couture Week without a glass of bubbly! Orange juice and Diet Cola didn't quite manage to finish the picture.

And then the fact that a week before Diwali happens to be peak season for designers who makeu00a0 a killing selling festive clothes. "That's hardly a problem. We take care of everything from hair and make-up to models. All the designer has to do is show up. They can invite their clients to the show, because these clothes will be up for sale next week," Sunil Sethi of FDCI, the organisers, smiles.

Who else was there?

What's tickling dimple? (From right) Twinkle Khanna, Rima Jain of the Raj Kapoor family, Dimple Kapadia (in white salwar kameez), Karan Johar's mother Hiroo (in magenta dupatta).
