Goretti goes shopping

Maria Goretti is truly an unusual woman. For one, she's not a shopoholic and second, she prefers shopping for household items instead of bags and shoes, items that generally score high with the fairer sex. Having recently returned from Toronto where she picked up a few knick-knacks, Maria talks to CS about being the cautious shopper that she is:

Home is where the heart is
I love buying household items like decor stuff, crockery, cutlery, etc. Clothes and jewellery don't usually catch my fancy. I was recently in Toronto where I chanced upon this store called Teaopia, after having bought my kids' gumboots. It was the most exotic shop ever with unusual aromatic blends of tea. My favourite flavour would have to be blueberry.

High demands
There really isn't anything that I wish to buy these days, except maybe a trip to Mount Kilimanjaro. I'm really craving for a great vacation, and Toronto wasn't exactly that perfect. But yes, some of my girlfriends and I have big plans of taking off to some exciting destination before the year ends.

Cover girl
My favourite buy so far has been this set of cushion covers from Cape Town in South Africa. They're simply beautiful, and more than that, they remind me of the fantastic time I had there. And yes, they look great in the house.

Shop till you drop
My favourite shopping destinations would have to be New York for the variety that it offers you and the mood of the city; Bangkok for its super, too-good-to-be-true bargains and India for the ethnic knick-knacks that you find here. I love frequenting the handloom fairs when they happen in town.
