Commenting on the IPL controversy surrounding her and husband Raj Kundra, the actress said, "I need to be careful now as I am going through a bad phase. But I am really honoured that I have bagged this special award. I always get nervous when I get an award because I haven't got many in my career."

The event was choreographed by Shiamak Davar and it was his first endeavour to design dance performances for a small screen award. "I have choreographed for TV for the first time and I enjoyed the process. My mother is my inspiration and her support encourages me to do something unique and better everytime," he said at the gala event.
