Initially, Akshay didn't understand 'Special Chabbis'

"It took me around three-four months. The first time I read the script, I didn't understand. Sometimes you don't understand a script till somebody narrates it to you. That was the only thing," the 45-year-old said here in an interview.

Akshay said "Special Chabbis" is based on a real-life incident that happened in the 1980s.

"My role is of a very simple man and how his life is shaken up. What happens to a common man and to what limit can he go? The film is based on that and it is based on a real story, this happened in 1986-87," he said.

Directed by Neeraj Pandey, "Special Chabbis" also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher, Jimmy Shergill and Kajal Aggarwal and is slated for a Feb 8 release.

The film is about a group of 26 men who rob rich businessmen and industrialists by posing as CBI and income tax officials.

Akshay says the film carries a small message for the audiences.

"Through this film, we want to tell everyone to be very careful and alert. There are huge posters of bogus police at Juhu. When you hire a housemaid or servant, you should know about them to avoid being conned or being taken for a ride. This is the small moral of the story," Akshay said.
