If rumours are to be believed, renowned Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi is on his way to India soon. Sources say Majidi is planning to make a film with a complete Indian cast and the script has also been finalised. The director is currently in Munich, busy with the post production of his upcoming movie, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

According to Mumbai-based producer Shareen Mantri, she and her team will be collaborating with Majidi on this project, tentatively titled Floating Gardens, and the two met in Turkey a couple of years ago. Mantri and her team have produced several commercials in the past.

An ecstatic Mantri says, “We were keen on collaborating with him for a movie -- it will be something new and different. He promised to start our project only after he finished his ongoing film. He will soon be coming to India and start work on this film. It will be based on human values and emotions, which Majid is a master at.”

The director is apparently scheduled to arrive in the country next month and will start on the rounds of auditions. The project is also believed to have an Indian crew.
The producer says the team is looking at locations like Nainital and Shimla to shoot the film that is said to boast a big budget.

On whether Majidi will opt for Bollywood stars, Mantri says she wants to leave it to the director’s discretion. “For him, a performer’s acting chops is all that matters,” she adds. u00a0
