One of the most awaited films coming out this summer, Kambakkht Ishq is going to be officially premiered at the prestigious Cannes film festival on May 15.
Everyone from the cast, including Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Hollywood biggies, Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh and Denise Richards will be present.
Cool with Cannes showcase
A source in the industry reveals, "Due to all the issues between the multiplexes and producer-distributors, the release date of the film can't be finalised, however Sajid Nadiadwala the producer of the film along with Eros International (the presenters) decided it was a good idea to showcase their film at Cannes next month."
The source further adds, "Given the presence of stars from the West, it makes sense for the makers to present the movie to a global audience though the film festival in the south of France.

They want to treat Kambakkht Ishq as a big international project and an astronomical amount of prints are also going to release all over the globe.
It is not going to another Hindi movie with Hollywood actors but a full fledged Hollywood movie."
Incidentally, it was Eros International who'd last premiered Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai starrer Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas at Cannes and the lead pair had walked the red carpet with Hollywood biggies.

Sajid Nadiadwala, says, "We are trying to do something big given that we have people from Hollywood and Bollywood together in this film.
We want to play on that and takeu00a0 advantage of this strike and make it work in favour of our film. We are talking about Cannes but nothing is confirmed on that front as yet.
But one thing is for sure, that the kind of release plan we are making for Kambakkht Ishq, none of it has ever been witnessed in Indian market before."
