Staying outdoors, under the scorching heat for hours on end, is not an easy task. But Bollywood hottie Jacqueline Fernandez takes it all in her stride. Though she recently fainted in Kanpur while promoting her latest film, Jackie (as her friends call her) has learnt how to beat the Indian summer. Here's what the lass has to say:
Juicy diet
Nariyal paani is a life-saving fluid during summers. I have it at least once-twice in a day. Coffee is a big no-no, though I love drinking it. I refrain from eating oily and fried stuff during this time as well. My diet consists of salads and a variety of fruits.
Energising self
To keep the heat getting from to me, I practise yoga every morning. And to keep my energy levels up, I go for dance classes twice a week. It is so hot in Mumbai that even if I walk on the street for a few minutes as I go sabji shopping, I feel tired. Bahrain too has a hot climate, but Mumbai's summer makes you lethargic with its humidity.
Hot days
The best summer memories are the vacations that I used to spend with my cousins in Sri Lanka. All my relatives would come together at my grandmom's place and she would cook yummy food for us, while we played from morning till night.
Cool ideas
I love South of France in this season and Europe too. This year I hope to travel to Europe for a vacation before heading to the USA where my sister is about to deliver a baby. Another thing I plan to do is wear the right clothes while I'm in India. Dresses are the best - they are light, flowy and comfortable. Open-toed stilettos and sneakers are my summer footwear choice.
