Director Soumik Sen, who is working on his next project which is a biopic on celebrated magician late PC Sorcar, is yet to finalise an actor for the lead role.

Soumik made his directorial debut with "Gulaab Gang" which starred Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla.

"I am working on biopic on PC Sorcar. It is an untold story of the greatest magician. It is near completion. We have not finalised any actor. It is too early to talk about it," Soumik told PTI.

"I don't know when we will go on floors.. this year or next year," he said.

There was a buzz that Soumik has got actor Akshay Kumar's nod to essay the magician's role.

Sorcar (1913-1971) was active in the 50s and 60s, hosting several shows in Kolkata as well as abroad. He was known for his tricks and illusions, the most notable being the floating lady act.

The director said he is also working on another biopic on legendary singer-actor Kishore Kumar.

"It is a challenge as well as taxing to work on a biopic," he said.

The Kishore Kumar biopic will be directed by Anurag Basu and it will have Ranbir Kapoor as on-screen Kishore.

Beside the two biopics, Soumik is also working on other projects.

"I am working on a love story and a thriller. It's too early to talk about it.. they are at various stages," he added.
