Singer Abhijit Bhatt-acharya who celebrated the 14th year of puja in Lokhandwala says, "It's a trendsetter because our puja doesn't survive on donations or chandas. We take the support of corporates." this year they attracted a crowd of over 5 lakh people, "People come from all over the world to attend our puja.
We give traditional bhog (prasad) where the menu is changed every day. In half an hour almost 3000 people are served consisting of traditional Bengali cusine like khichdi, labra (vegetable curry), chaanar daalna (paneer curry), cholar dal with coconut and various kinds of bhajas and payesh (Bengali sweet dish of rice and milk). We also serve mineral water, fruit chatni pulao."
Next year, he plans to make and sell T-shirts, photos and kurtas worn by members and committee members at the pujas. We also have musical soirees every evening consisting of singers and classical and fusion music with dance.
