After getting into student mode for Raj Kumar Hirani's 3 Idiots, Madhavan suddenly finds himself pining for his days of carefree youth.
Tomorrow (25 July) Maddy returns to his student days in Stettler, Canada for a college reunion with a difference.
He will not only be reuniting with friends from college, but will also visit and stay with all the families who had him as paying guests during his stint in Canada.
And this time Maddy, who likes to travel with his family as much as possible, is going solo. "This has to be doneu00a0 lone. It's a part of my life that I want to relive in all its original details. For that, I need to go back to my bachelor days."
Can't wait
Maddy travels to Stettler, Canada to revisit his youth. "It's the place where I spent a large part of my student days. I'll be regrouping with the 80 students who studied with me and I'll stay with the families who had me as their houseguest. It's a very emotional time in my life. Can't wait."
Much evolution
The whole experience of playing a student in Raj Kumar Hirani's 3 Idiots brought about this craving to revisit his past."3 Idiots was a life-changing experience," says Madhavan. "I feel I've evolved so much during its making. This was my second film with Aamir Khan after Rang De Basanti. Just being with him in a film is such a learning experience. Aamir isn't just an actor in a project. He functions in so many capacities."
Returning to normal
At the moment, Maddy sports what he calls 'The Idiot Look'. Close-cropped hair, lean athletic frame, cool lingo and hotheaded attitude. "I quickly need to get rid of my youthful aggression. My wife thinks I've lost it. I'll get back to 'normal' as soon as I return from Stettler."
