Neha Dhupia is known for mixing the unconventional with the regular. And as much as Neha believes in realistic cinema, she believes in doing her own stunts too. Gearing up to host an action awards in June, Neha tells CS what gets her going:

Charged up

I enjoy doing my own stunts. And getting a chance to host the action awards gives me yet another opportunity to push myself to do stunts that I may not have done in the past. In fact, I have invested a lot of time training in the gym and playing squash as it keeps me agile and on my toes.

Performing a stunt is absolutely thrilling and satisfying. It makes you realise that you can achieve anything, provided you give it your hundred per cent. Now I know why Akshay (Kumar) enjoys being the daredevil that he is. Whilst the risk factor is beyond comparison, I can relate to the kick that doing a stunt can give you.

Water scare

I've had the opportunity to do a lot of stunts in my films, right from Singh is Kingg, Mithiya to Ek Chalis Ki Last Local. But I have to say that the scariest ones were shot for the climax of De Dana Dhan. None of us knew what to expect and we were shooting in water for almost two weeks!

Out of the box

Some time back I learnt kickboxing. It actually made me realise how important it is for a woman to be able to take care of herself in a city like ours. Here's a tip for all you girls out there: a roundhouse kick goes a long way, straight into the solar plexus of the attacker. It gives you time to run away while he's flat on his back in pain! There's a Sandra Bullock dialogue that I would love to try one day; it's a sure shot self-defence technique that involves 'Sing'ing, that stands for solar plexus, instep, nose and groin (laughs).
