Why Neha Sharma could have been unceremoniously ousted from an item number in Anees Bazmee's upcoming film

Neha Sharma was at the receiving end of quite a shock after realising that director Anees Bazmee had started shooting an item song in his upcoming film without her. Neha was apparently supposed to be a part of the dance number and negotiations were also done in the effect. Sources close to the actress say that all was going good but post the negotiations, the makers simply disappeared.

Insiders say this could have something to do with Neha having certain reservations about her portrayal in the song. A friend of the actress says, “Neha was very clear from the beginning that given the nature of the song, her costumes and styling had to be aesthetically appealing. It was only after the makers started shooting with six other girls that Neha realised she had been unceremoniously dumped.”

Insiders say perhaps the producers were not keen to share Neha’s vision and that could have driven them away. The actress’ friend adds, “If she were to do an item song, it had to be the best.” Says Bazmee, “We had been considering Neha as she is a great dancer. But after listening to the song, I thought instead of one girl, six girls would suit the situation better. It wouldn’t look good if I asked Neha to be among one of the six ladies.”u00a0
