The secret to actor Sonal Chauhan's beauty is sticking to the God-given. This Jannat beauty has never done a facial in her life. Instead she follows her mom's advice and tries only natural remedies. Currently working on M F Hussian's son Owais Hussian's directorial debut, the actor has recently returned tanned from shooting for a film down South. She tells CS about her skin care regime:
Morning exerciseu00a0
The first thing I do every morning after getting up is drink a bottle of wateru00a0- around one litre. It is then followed by a fruit juice and a mixed vegetable juice. The veggie juice is usually made up of beet root, amla, cucumber, carrot and tomato. Though I drink all this and eat a lot of fruits during the day, I never fail to workout a bit. Your skin needs to perspire and the sweat gives your skin a good glow.
No artificial aide
My mother taught me quite early in life to be happy with what I had and enhance it with natural remedies. I have never done a facial in my life, nor do I use any face packs. But yes, I do a cleanup once in two months or so to rejuvenate my skin. I regularly moisturise my skin with a cream every morning and sometimes before I go to sleep. Also, I make sure there's no makeup on my face when I go off to bed. I clean it up thoroughly as I believe that our skin should be left clean so that it can breathe and rejuvenate itself at night.
Beating the sun
Since my work requires me to work outdoors and that too at times under severe conditions, I make generous use of sunscreen without fail. Also, I try to stay under the umbrella as much as possible when I'm not required for a shot. But whatever I do, my skin gets burnt and dehydrated under the sun. I can't avoid being tanned if I'm under the sun for even just two hours and quite truthfully, the de-tanning treatments never really make a difference. Good sunscreen and a good moisturiser are the only protectors of my skin.
