Paul McCartney of the Beatles fame has written to PM Manmohan Singh to declare January 12 as a Meat-free Day in India. The musician wants to commemorate the founding anniversary of People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) on January 12. Here are a few other unusual days that get celebrated globally:
