Sanjay Singh Chauhan gets veteran H-Town special effects director on board his sci-fi flick

National Award-winning director Sanjay Singh Chauhan has roped in John Palmer (the special effect director of Armageddon, Star Trek and Back To Future fame) for his next, an untitled sci fi film.

So what drew Palmer to his film? "He is getting an opportunity to delve in to an Indian film, an altogether new experience for him," reveals Chauhan, adding, "John was supposed to come to India 20 years ago for a Spielberg film but it didn't happen. I am glad to have him on board after chasing him for almost a year.

I am attempting India's first authentic sci-fi film and I wanted the world's best technicians on my team. John's name is reckoned with the best in the genre."

He says getting the best H-town technicians is hard worku00a0 "Mostly we get mediocre technicians from the West and get the kick in the fact that they are white-skinned.

It's difficult to get A-Listers on board as we can't match their creativity, nor do we have the money to afford them."

That said, he has also roped in The Hulk cinematographer Frederick Elms, Wayne Sharpe for back ground score and Lisa Garel for vocals.

Sanjay is now looking for actors in his futuristic film. Though he maintains he will look to the Indian film industry for actors, a source close to him informs that he is in talks with a big Hollywood star for the lead role.

The bilingual will be in Hindi and in a south Indian language and will be shot in fresh locations in Rajasthan, parts of South India, Mumbai and Delhi. The film is slated to go on floors sometime this year.
