Hai Mera Dil, a successful comic play by Ank Theatre Group, completed it's 1073rd show on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Prithvi Theatre, Vile Parle.

Play it on

Directed by Dinesh Thakur, the play has been running for 32 years with veteran actors like Aman Gupta, Dinesh Thakur, Preeta Mathur, Rohan Shroff, SP Chauhan, SC Makhija, Atul Mathur, Shankar Iyer and Rekha Rana giving the best of their performances.

The play shows a husband who is under the false impression that he is going to die. So, he tries to get his wife to marry again. The wife, in turn, grows suspicious of the husband, thinking that he is being disloyal.

The hilarious way in which the play has been directed makes it universally relevant. It is for everyone from the mill worker to the elitist person in society. It gives you the impression of looking into someone’s living room.

Dinesh Thakur has updated it with the inclusion of latest trends. For instance, a character in who used to wear a saree in the beginning, went on to wear salwar kameez and is now seen in slinky gowns. Hai Mera Dil has been relevant during any era as it talks about relationships.

The play also happens to have given Prithvi its first houseful show. Since there were no sign boards saying so in those days, the cast put up a slate with ‘Houseful’ written on it with a chalk.u00a0
