Joining the likes of her female contemporaries, actress Richa Chadha forayed into production last year, albeit with a short film. Khoon Aali Chithhi put the spotlight on terrorism in Punjab, stemming from the Khalistan movement of the '80s and '90s. Now, hitlist has learnt that the actress is set to create a full-length feature film inspired by the short.
Richa says, "I felt the premise on which the short film was based could make for a great feature format narrative and thus [I arrived at] the idea of extending it into a feature film. Rupinder Inderjeet, who directed the original, will helm the project." Unlike the short, which was in Punjabi, the feature film will be shot in Hindi.
"Khoon Aali Chithhi had a message of love and hope. We want this film to reach as many people as possible, and therefore, the collective decision to change the language," she says.
