Indian rock band Parikrama's roots are apparent with their tendency to mix western musical instruments with Indian counterparts.

Rocking on

The Delhi-based band has managed to not only survive but also thrive. Currently in Jaisalmer for a music festival, the band will be playing in Mumbai later this month. CS spoke to Subir Malik, Parikrama’s keyboard player to know more:

Changes over years
Technology has made it possible today to sit at home, record a track and make the world hear it in minutes. You have world-class equipment available almost everywhere and you have loads of music schools to teach and guide. It's great for the rock music industry.

Under-appreciated?
Majority of India is into Bollywood but if you look at rock as a genre, you just have to look at so many of the present hits that are rock but sung in Hindi. We, who do English Rock, are more than happy with our share of audience.

Highs and lows
Our first show at Mood I and opening for Iron Maiden, performing at Kennedy Centre, USA had some of the most memorable moments. Speaking of low points, well, we haven’t had any yet. u00a0
