Mr India 2 is finally falling into place and Salman Khan may well play the villain in the film. The biggest challenge for the writers of the sequel, however, would be to come up with the character of a villain as imposing and awe-inspiring as the original's Mogambo.

Says the original film's (and the sequel's) producer Boney Kapoor, "Mogambo was a perfect villain for those times. He died at the end of Mr India. So that's the end of him. Salman has said that he wants to be part of Mr India 2 in any capacity, even as a villain. It would be a big challenge to project Salman as a negative character, a first for him."

Adds Anees Bazmee, who was recently finalised as the film's director and is currently working on the script, "The challenge for me is to create a larger-than-life villain like Mogambo for Salman to play."
The cast for Mr India 2 so far includes Anil Kapoor and Sridevi from the original.

Why isn't Shekhar Kapur the director (he directed the original)?
Says Shekhar, "Boney was keen that I do Mr India 2 .I had sent Boney a story. I don't know what happened to it. I think Boney has a fresh team to helm the project now."
Says Boney, "The first draft that Shekhar sent never went beyond the idea level. He didn't carry it forward. After the initial notes, I didn't hear from him. I had no choice but to turn to others to write a sequel.
About Sri's role in Mr India 2
Says Boney, "It's too early to discuss what Sri will be doing in Mr India 2. But we'll make sure her fans won't be disappointed."
