Celebrity designer Priyanka Thakur's collection titled Bold and Bollywood (B&B) was breathtaking. And why not? After all, Bollywood babe Koena Mitra walked the ramp wearing the designer's delicately hand-embellished red lehenga-choli. B&B had exquisite lehengas, sarees, tunics, kurtas and churidhars.
The six yards fabric had heavy surface ornamentation and brocade lining. Paisley motifs in different sizes and styles were used on most outfits. "As a designer, I am very fascinated by paisley motifs. They have that unique Indian touch. I do what looks best for my clients," said Priyanka.u00a0
Koena's makeup was kept simple and hair stylist Gauri Kapur, who gave her a fusion style, said, "This hair style is very much in vogue. It is done with inverted rolls of hair."
u00a0The show was choreographed by Rahul Dev and the music included a medley of Bollywood numbers from films like Jodha Akbar, Chameli and Slumdog Millionaire.
"I really liked her sarees, they were different and exquisite. The music was selected as per the theme and it really worked," said Rahul.
Priyanka's clientele includes mostly celebrities and Bollywood actors. She felt Koena was apt for her show as she is a model and Bollywood diva.

People associate my style with Western outfits, so it was refreshing to carry off the Indian Bridal look. The outfit was heavy, but I guess that's the beauty of Indian clothes."
As she left for the airport, she added, "I wish Bangalore all the best and it's good to have a fashion week of its own."
Sadly, the Koena Mitra magic did not draw the crowd to the event. Show choreographer Rahul explained, "Timing is the problem. The fashion collection was good but Koena had a flight to catch so we had to schedule it early in the day. I am sure the later shows will be buzzing." Did we catch him crossing his fingers?
