Actor Sikander Kher says he may be the son of well-known actors Anupam and Kirron Kher but he does not get bogged down by the pressure to prove himself.
"Any big personality's son will have pressure on some level. Like Arjun Tendulkar son of (cricketer) Sachin Tendulkar will have that pressure when he grows up. (Actor) Abhishek Bachchan is compared to (megastar) Amitabh Bachchan," Sikander told PTI.
"I am son of Anupam and Kirron Kher, so I will be compared to that level of acting (of the couple). There is a bar that you have to live up to, but (one needs to) enjoy life," the 34-year-old actor added.
Sikander began his acting career in 2008 with Sanjay Gupta and Ekta Kapoor's "Woodstock Villa", a musical-thriller, but the movie sank without a trace at the box office.
Sikander also featured in "Summer 2007", directed by debutant Suhail Tatari in the same year, but it also failed at the box office.
Even noted filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker's patriotic biopic "Khele Hum Jee Jaan Sey", released in 2010, did not give any boost to Sikander's career.
He was then seen in Abbas-Mustan's action thriller "Players" (2012) and Yash Raj Films's "Aurangzeb" (2013), but both the films did not do that well at the box office.
After a gap of almost three years, Sikander returned to the silver screen this year with "Tere Bin Laden:Dead Or Alive".
According to him, there are couple of things that went wrong with his career in the B-town.
"I think it's a mixture of lot of things like choices, 'kismat' (fate), time. It is all about getting up and doing your best and not losing hope," he added.
Sikander will be seen next in actor Anil Kapoor's most awaited television show "24".
"I have '24' and then I have done an international television show called 'Sense8' and some other projects. In Bollywood, there are few things in pipeline but nothing is finalised yet," he said.
