Apparently, the medieval hairstlye is back in vogue and this time it is messier! Not just the classic ones but also many young B-Town beauties seem to have developed a thing for the hairstyle.

Fashion statement: The medieval choti

The fashionable fishtail plaits not only provide relief from the heat but also up the sexy quotient of these gals.
Some starlets prefer simple and neat chotis while others like it disheveled.

City stylists suggest the traditional simple braid with Indian attires andu00a0 the messier one with western outfits.

Hair stylist Promila Hunter explains how the messy braids came to fore. "Rekha has a proper choti and she carries it the best.

Today's actresses don't have long and voluminous hair and that's why they make loose braids. It's a fresh style and looks chic, too." From among the actresses who carry them the best, hunter speaks highly of Vidya Balan.

To make your braids look even more stylish Hunter says, "You can accessorise braids with clips and flowers or even a parandi."
