The money game

No one can predict what life will throw at you. And India's all rounder, Yuvraj Singh, consents wholeheartedly.

Yuvraj, who is being treated in the US for cancer, says that his recent challenges have definitely made me more aware and conscious of the need to save regularly. He tells CS about how he's been building his nest:

Under cover
Today as young Indians, we are brimming with confidence and optimism. We spend our working life striving to fulfil the big dreams that our family and we see. However, in an increasingly uncertain world, you also need to ensure that your family can survive the highs and lows with confidence.

I too wasn't a big believer in making investments. But with age comes the realisation of one's responsibilities, and the need to work towards them, while insuring against any unforeseen eventualities. My recent challenges have definitely made me more aware and conscious of the need to save regularly, invest in the right financial instruments and protect my loved ones and myself.

Paisa, paisa
Having said that, let me tell you that I don't follow my investments as much as I should. I just don't have the time or the knowledge. I know and breathe cricket and focus all my energies on the game, performing well and to the best of my ability. This is most important to me. Only if there is success, will money follow.
