Twenty minutes to a great body

You would love to be in actor Jimmy Sheirgill's (running) shoes. The man takes no stress about his work-outs, but is still super lean and mean. Just twenty minutes on the treadmill and Jimmy is set. He shares his fitness regime with CS:

Run, baby run
I used to go to the Juhu Beach for a run very regularly, but I've stopped doing that now because people start flocking around. So the whole purpose of an uninterrupted work-out was lost. I figured that the treadmill was a better option. I run on it for 20 minutes whenever I can. Sometimes when I'm tied up with work in the city, I don't work-out for about 20 days at a stretch. But I make up for all the missed sessions when I am shooting outdoors. Then I follow a strict work-out -- wake up at 5 am and do everything my instructor wants me to do and more.

Role call
I try to achieve a look that suits my character. For Delhi Heights, I was required to put on weight, which I did. Tomorrow if I'm told to develop a six-pack for a certain film, I'll slog it out for six months to get that look. I'm not casual about my work-outs when a role is at stake.

Served hot
I don't follow any fancy diet or eat every two hours as is the trend these days. I eat normal foodu00a0-- chicken (gave up other forms of meat about three years ago), a vegetable, chappatis or rice. I stick to a vegetarian diet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I also end up drinking cups and cups of black coffee when I am working, it keeps me all charged up.

But I also indulge when I want to. When I'm in Punjab (I do a Punjabi film every year), I finish my work-outs and head to a dhaba with my friends. We call for tandoori chicken, dal makhani, butter naan and what have you. I don't count calories when I'm in Punjab!
