Udita's winter woes

As Mumbai gets a wee bit cooler, girl from the North, Udita Goswami seems to miss the chilly winter back home. She is longing to toast her feet in front of a bonfire lit in her ancestral home's verandah in Dehradun every night. Udita, shares her winter memories with CS:

The sun rules
During this cold weather, every person is like a sunflower in Dehradun. Wherever the sunlight streamed into our house, we'd all go sit there to get some warmth. But getting up early to go to school and standing in the assembly line shivering every minute was a nightmare. I would just want it to get over so that I could run to my classroom and sit in the comparatively warmer room. I'd layer myself up in warm clothesu00a0-- thermals and sweaters. It'd be so cold, that we'd even dress up our dog in warm clothes.

Heart warming
I really miss the landscape and the small town charm of Dehradun. In winters, every morning I'd admire the dew drops that'd collect on the leaves. Also, the full moon nights, as you sit under the sky watching the clear sky filled with bright stars, is something worth experiencing.

And the landscape just melts your heart.u00a0There, if the sky is clear, then riding a bike or scooter is absolutely adventurous.

In a soup
I miss enjoying the warmth from the bonfire while binging on hot momos and soup. The habit of drinking soup is so imbibed in me that I still do it here, but that chilling winter ambience is just so missing.
