Ranbir's outfits from film will be auctioned and the proceeds will go to an old age home; producer Karan Johar will also contribute

Ranbir Kapoor's tees have become so popular in Ayaan Mukherji's Wake Up Sid (WUS) that they will be soon auctioned off and the proceeds donated to charity.

Says a source from Dharma Productions (the producer), "We have received many calls from young college-going students asking where they could buy his T-Shirts, boxers and socks. While we have given a couple of his tees away. While we were deciding what to do, Karan (Johar) came up with the idea of auctioning them and donating the proceeds to an old age home. The auction will be put up on a TV channel or website within this week."

Giving back
The source adds, "Karan thought it would be a way of the young giving back something in their way back to the old. In fact, Karan himself will also be contributing a substantial amount along with the sale proceeds. Karan, Ranbir and Ayaan will be handing over the money personally."

Ayaan confirms, "It was Karan's idea to donate the proceeds of the auction to an old age home. When we styled Ranbir, we didn't realise his character's clothes would become such a fashion rage! People want only Sid's outfits so we are auctioning them."
